A unique competition, for an original vine : « MALBEC INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION »

The vine was a time – in France – cultivated in about thirty French departments was favoured by kings. Known as “Black Wine” by the English, it nearly disappeared from the Cahors vineyard as a result of the ravages of phylloxera. Nowadays, it is present almost all over the world, and the Malbec International Competition wants to benefit from this aspect.

Mostly to be found in Cahors (France) and Argentina, but also produced in about ten of the largest wine-producing countries, Malbec is often described by consumers as being tannic and full-bodied. It has an aroma of cocoa and black fruits, which bring richness, voluptuousness and sensuality.

The SOLE aim is to make this vine better known. The competition will allow wine-growers to demonstrate their know-how ; it is also the expression of quality, and is motivated by the will to widen the knowledge and the palate of the consumers.
You can benefit from a new visibility by participating in this first international wine competition organized exclusively for the Malbec wine variety.

Held in accordance with the standards of the OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine), the Malbec International Competition provides producers with strict tasting conditions for their products (with an ISO 9001 Quality approach).
